Two years ago I went to the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. This was my first time there and in all my earlier travels I had never seen so many mountains or the possibility of seeing nothing but so many mountains all around. The trip meant for me to film a mountain biking race, MTB Himalaya 2012.
Even more recently, I find myself questioning the sanity in going there at my own expense, hauling a trunk load of filming equipment for random teams that would join me there to shoot a mountain biking race and not even get paid for doing it. And I look at Meeting Mountains, my first one man documentary film, shot, edited, written and narrated by me to find my answers. My trip to the mountains has turned out into a tree that never stops giving.
And now, it has managed to let me put together this short photo series on the dogs of Shimla. They aren’t as common as the street dogs in Bangalore. But are extremely territorial and yet are welcoming to the fact that you petting them is sufficient too if you do not have any food to offer and they can be amazing buddies on a still drunk/hungover morning.
